How to get audio files to us

Please note that you cannot email audio files to us. Audio files are too large to be emailed.

There are two options for getting audio files to us:

(1)The Upload Files page on this website:  www.pointswesttranscription.com

The vast majority of our clients use this website to upload their audio files. They upload their audio to the Upload Files page of this site and then we email the completed transcripts back to them as an editable Word document. When we email the completed transcripts back, we can either attach them directly to the email, or put them in a password protected link within the email. The instructions on how to upload to the Upload Files page on this website are provided on the Upload Files page itself. The files will be 128-bit SSL encrypted and password protected for their entire journey.

(2)Your own private folder on our private fileshare site:  www.shelfor.com

The Upload Files page on the website you're currently on,
www.pointswesttranscription.com, is actually in an iFrame powered by SendThisFile, although it's been branded for us so you don't see their logo. However, not everyone can access this method of upload because in some offices, including most government offices, the IT people have barred access to well-known internet file sharing sites as a security precaution.

So in order to allow you to upload files for us if your office has this type of restriction, we've created a private file sharing site, www.shelfor.com, where you can upload your audio and/or supporting documents for us. We've never yet had a client, including government clients, who couldn't upload to this private site. The files will be 256-bit SSL encrypted and password protected for their entire journey and the site is extremely easy to use. No special software is required and it's just a couple of mouse clicks. This is much simpler than using an FTP site.

Researchers that are part of your team will be able access this site from anywhere across Canada or around the world. We can set up folders and access however you like. For example, you can have one folder for all your researchers or each researcher can have their own private folder, with their own username and password, so that none of your researchers will have access to each other's work.

Please feel free to let us know if you need this option. It's easy to set up and doesn't cost anything extra.
